Jake Volk

Graduate Student & English Fellow

University of Northern Iowa

Jake is a graduate student at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). He's working on his MA in English with an emphasis in book history. Jake is the first graduate student to receive the Languages & Literatures English Fellowship at UNI. As the Fellow, Jake worked as the Assistant Editor of the North American Review from August 2022 through December 2023.

Currently, he is an Instructor teaching College Writing & Research. In this final semester at UNI, Jake is researching and writing about the Wadle Paperback Collection in Rod Library. After graduating, Jake and his fiancé plan to attend the University of Iowa to each earn an MS in Library and Information Science. He lives in Cedar Falls with his fiancé and their three cats: Gaia, Orpheus, and Stella.
